Blanche brings the man she loves before her mother. But his mother refused to marry him as his family was not noble and famous. He informs Blanche that she should marry the man of her choice. But if she does not agree to accept this decision, Blanche is locked in a small room by her mother. He was sternly told that Blanche would be released from this house on the day she accepted her mother's decision. But like the mother, the daughter is also steadfast in her decision.
If he has to marry, he will marry the person he loves, not anyone else.
As the years pass, Blanche remains steadfast in her decision. Mother's arrogant-stubborn mind doesn't melt either. As a result, the release does not match. In 1885, Blanche is kept locked up even after her lover dies! Meanwhile, Blanche's mother and brother pretend in society that they are sad to lose Blanche! The domestic workers knew about this but were afraid to tell anyone because of the social influence of monies. In this way, twenty-five years passed!
Then, 25 years later, in 1901, an anonymous letter reached the Attorney General of Paris. Who or what sent the letter is never known. It reads - Monnier's family has kept a person trapped in their house for many years. Thinking about the social status of Monnier's family, the General did not want to at first, but later ordered an investigation.
When the soldiers return after searching the house and find nothing, a soldier's nose catches a rotten smell.
Following the smell, they reached Chilekotha (garret) and found a dark locked room. The room had only one closed small window, that too with thick curtains. Nothing was visible from outside. A soldier broke the glass of the window due to suspicion. Through the broken glass they see a woman chained in a corner of the room! Seeing him, the soldiers broke the door and entered and saw a strange scene.
Monnier Blanch lies in a small bed of rotting food and billions of worms. During these 25 years he was completely isolated from outside light and air. The appearance has also become wacky. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. At that time his weight was only 22 kg! But Monnier Blanche could not erase the terrible memories of the past 25 years from her head. As a result, he developed serious mental problems. He was admitted to a psychiatric hospital in France.
He spent the rest of his life here, until his death in 1913. He had to get this punishment for the 'crime' of wanting to marry the person he loves.
And the fate of Blanche's mother and her brother? After Blanche's rescue, her mother and brother were arrested. When mother fell ill, she bailed and went home. But by then everyone knew the story. After 15 days of Blanche's rescue, an angry crowd gathered in front of their house. Mrs. Monnier died of a heart attack the same day. Excess pride and ego thus destroys an arranged family.
